报告摘要:

We construct structure preserving finite element methods for the magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) system. The newly proposed scheme precisely preserves magnetic helicity, cross helicity and fluids helicity. In addition, we show that the scheme also preserves the energy law and the magnetic Gauss law. Our construction is made from the discrete differential forms fitting in a discrete de Rham complex. We present a couple of numerical tests to confirm the theoretical development as well as some related ongoing research. This is a joint work with Kaibo Hu (University of Minnesota) and Jinchao Xu (Penn State).
